Some fans love the abuse, some fans hate it. But now the data has been collected, we can say for certain who the most hated and the most loved clubs in Europe’s top five leagues are.
Premier League, England:
A survey conducted by polling company YouGov has shown that the most disliked club in the Premier league is Chelsea, with 68.7% of those polled expressing some sort of angst against the blues.

Manchester United followed in a very close second with 68.1% in this particular poll, but other surveys have shown United come out on top. Regardless of the numbers, it’s fair to say these two are the most hated two clubs in the Premier League.

As for who the most liked team in the Premier League is, Liverpool lead that race with 35% of those asked claiming a soft spot for the reds.
Aided by their mass following maybe, it is still an impressive number for a club that has been starved of success in recent times.

Remember Leicester City’s fairy-tale Premier League triumph? Well their unlikely championship a couple of years back seems to have caught the imagination of the nation, as they came in second, just behind Liverpool, with 30% of the vote.

Bundesliga, Germany:
FC Bayern Munich were rated the most liked team in the Bundesliga with 24.2% of the votes, according to Statista, with bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund in second place with 22.3% of the votes.

Unsurprisingly, it was RB Leipzig who topped the poll for being the most disliked team in the Bundesliga.

Serie A, Italy:
In Italy the 34 league time winners Juventus come out on top for the most liked team in Serie A, despite their dodgy dealings in the 2006 Calciopoli Scandal, with 39% of the votes [CalcioMercato].

And it was Inter Milan who came bottom of the pile, with 40% of those who were asked saying they weren’t fond of the la Nerazzurri – strange.
La Liga, Spain:
In Spain it’s a two horse race for the top dog with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid both battling it out.
It is believed these two clubs are the most followed clubs in Spain and have been for some time, with the sheer number of stars they produce helping them in becoming a global entity.

Both clubs have produced two of the world’s greatest ever players, who have both gone onto bring glory to the two teams, but in this particular battle, neither comes out on top.
Yes, that’s right. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are on equal terms when it comes to this one. Unlucky Leo.

Ligue 1, France:
Again, unsurprisingly it is PSG who top the list for the most disliked team in France, with 69% of those asked saying they have “negative opinions of the club”.

Coming out on top in the beloved list is Olympique Lyon – they deserve it too for this stunner of a kit from 2001. How cool is that sponsor!
